Beirut, February 5th, 2008 - Mobile Money Transfer Program & SMS Pull Service: Two New Electronic Services From Bank Audi

In line with its strategy to always serve its customers better by delivering the finest and most creative electronic banking services, particularly in the payment card industry, Bank Audi sal – Audi Saradar Group announced the launch of two new SMS services, the SMS Money Transfer and the SMS Pull, both considered to be the latest technologic enhancements in the field of mobile services.

The SMS Money Transfer is a quick, easy and secure service that simplifies the person-to-person money transfer process, using the mobile payment technology. It targets all Bank Audi credit card holders who can now choose to transfer funds, via their Bank Audi credit card, to any of their credit cards, as well as to family members or friends, whenever and wherever they want.

As for the SMS Pull service, it is an easy and swift tool allowing cardholders to access information about their credit card activities (card’s available limit, points balance, last transactions made on the card, monthly due payments), any time, any place. This can be done just by sending an SMS message from the cardholders’ mobile phone to Bank Audi’s messaging center.

"In its key role at the heart of the electronic banking field in Lebanon, Bank Audi has always been committed to connecting its payment card products with advanced technology, in order to instigate pioneering payment methods” said Randa Bdeir, Head of Electronic Banking and Cards Services at Bank Audi. She added that “Bank Audi’s new SMS Pull program is a highly advanced electronic solution designed to allow the Bank’s credit card holders to better manage their card transactions around the clock, without having to visit or contact the Bank. This service grants cardholders the privilege of a constant access to their credit card account through sent and received SMSs, and a permanent monitoring of their cards in a safe, easy and timely manner.”

On the SMS Money Transfer program, Bdeir stated: “We believe that this program has tremendous potential because it gives customers the opportunity to no longer be tied to a particular place. This means that they don’t need to go to the bank or to an international payment service office in order to transfer money, since they can now execute all their transfers from their mobile phone at any time.”

These two new services have undeniably underlined the innovative aspect of the SMS services program which was introduced 3 years ago, with the SMS alerts service (SMS Push). Such a program can only meet the high demand for reliable and secure modern transaction systems, in an era characterized by the rapid growth in the use of mobile telephony.
