Over the past seven years, Bank Audi was engaged in major restructuring, consisting of widening its network, developing IT and electronic banking infrastructures, and diversifying products and services.
In parallel, the consolidation policy of the Audi Group rested on the acquisition of two banks, two branch networks, its European sister banks Banque Audi ( France) and Banque Audi (Suisse), an insurance company Libano-Arabe, in addition to the merger with an investment company, Lebanon Invest.
This strategy was last reinforced with a merger/acquisition operation with Banque Saradar around the end of the first quarter of 2004. Beyond the consolidation of our domestic positioning in view of reaching a significant dimension apt to ensure better immunity of our Group, this last operation supports our strategy of regional activity expansion.
It is within this cross border perspective that the Bank engaged in its regional expansion towards high value added countries: Jordan and Syria in the Levant, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East, with further expansion to come towards MENA and Gulf markets, namely in Iraq and Sudan.
At the close of 2003, the Bank obtained a banking license to open a network of branches in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Bank’s
presence in Jordan mainly hinges on the coverage of retail banking activities with emphasis on commercial banking to support the retail business and correspondent banking services supported by our European sister banks.
To that end, our branch network locations in Jordan are destined to build a supportive commercial franchise along the retail emphasis.
